We seek funds for a fenced dog area with water stations, waste bins, and seating to promote animal safety & community engagement.
What is the plan?
We aim to develop a fenced dog park within our neighbourhood, providing a safe and secure environment for dogs and their owners.
What do you want to achieve with your plan/what is the result?
Our goal is to promote community engagement, encourage responsible pet ownership, and improve the quality of life for pets and their owners.
Who is your plan intended for?
Our plan is intended for all dog owners in the community and their pets, as well as new families looking to move into our area.
Provide arguments to convince people in your neighborhood to vote for your plan.
A dog park serves as a social hub for residents, promotes physical activity for dogs, and creates an attractive and welcoming community. It will also help to make owners of dogs stay away from areas where not allowed because it finally gives them a space where dogs are specifically allowed, thus reducing potential conflicts and fostering responsible pet ownership. Your support will help realize this recreational facility and strengthen neighborhood bonds.
Notes
I am aware that there is a dog park somewhat close by, below Sloterpark, 1.4 km from our home. However, it is an unfenced dog park, and many dogs cannot go off-leash safely. Additionally, many of the newly renovated yards in the Bluebandrop area have signs prohibiting dogs on the lawns, as do the green areas behind the houses on Jacques Veltmanstraat. This demonstrates a clear need for a designated, secure space where dogs can play freely and safely.
A great location for this project is the fenced lawn at Jan Puntstraat 73, which is currently unused and where dogs are not allowed.
